right,unplugging the alternator overnight didnt work,just tried to start it and nothing,tried a little then died,just jumpped it

An alternator is just a motor, but in reverse. Can't see how it could drain a battery.
Do you know if the batteries are good? Have you tried disconnecting both batteries and seeing if they hold their charge over night on their own?Oh Nana, what's my name?
