Couldn't agree with you more....God forbid it never happens to anyone's family member. Being a bit reckless sometimes is a part of growing up....some get away with it ..others are not so fortunate...

So before any disgraceful comments are posted...stop and think ...then put brain in gear...

Does anyone here think the prog would have got as many viewers or stirred as much cr@p up amongst the bobblehats if they'd interviewed a sensible green laning club?

Programs get high ratings by stirring controversy, simple as. Forget it. Move on. And in your offroad activities, be ABSOLUTELY BEYOND CRITICISM.

ALWAYS change your plates when you go offroad.

ALWAYS run down anyone in a bobble hat.

              NEVER stop for anyone.

It didn't feature but was visible in a couple of shots.

Don't really agree with the wire across comment but Bushwacker has got a point, just like 4x4 drivers there are decent off-road bikers, but they are outnumbered by the idiots lately. Where I live kids have been knocked over by these so called bikers, so yes maybe some sort of cull would help out the old gene pool.
I think it's been posted but do these programmes go out of their way to find the good 4x4 drivers to even out the argument?

We don't have this problem so much in Scotland as it's illegal to drive offroad here without the land owners permission. I think the problem is folk driving on legal routes but breaking the rules and leaving the designated route and causing damage.

                        .
I agree, I however expected more from Countryfile.
After all I thought its aim was to promote activities in the countryside, irrespective of what those activities are.
Anyways, whos to say that pedestrians and horses have more right to the countryside than I do in my vehicle. When we start looking at it from that mis-perception, we start off on the wrong foot.

The interviews with the "legal" group was cringeworthy, yobs in ugly, noisy trucks is what I would of thought if I didnt know any better,

yeah, and i knew his brother - the lad that died wasnt doing anything illegal or being dft or silly - was just out for a LEGAL ride

i'm shocked that a respected member of this forum even thought about posting such a stupid comment weather in jest or not

i think the only way to stop the idiots really is to educate them better

i had no idea on the rules of greenlaning etc before i bought my truck, it was only after joining a few forums and reading up that i started learning more and more about it

if the bobble hats and horsie types - along with ourselves made info more readily available and the rules of whats right and whats wrong brought into the driving test etc etc, then the hooligans may start understanding
