        Can't say I remember where I was at the time...never liked the beatles or The Bay City Rollers..(cringe) I do remember where I was when JFK was assasinated...watching 'The Fugitive' on our black and white telly, when a news flash came on..

              Im really pleased to see a healthy scepticism on here about the " Fab Phoneys". Ive never understood why people around my age (50) look back at them with rose tinted glasses. I personally think that they were an over rated pop group that became far too full of themselves and degenerated into a bunch of spoilt, self indulgent pseudo-hippies....Cheers....Mick.

                          not to be picky but it is actually tomorrow, 8.12.1980. It was my first birthday, don't remember it, but I can imagine my parents looking over me wondering how the feck they made it though the last year!

                            well i was taking a dump if facted i had around 730 dumps in 1980
                            beatles aint that bad not my cup of tea a bit well too pop for me
                            but all in all i did not ever see why there was so much hype over the beatles

                            i have a record lp its got john george and paul its called the mersey beats

                            its from before the beatles i did read once that they are no known copys out there the one i have is a low number too

                              Never really liked the Beatles, but respect the influence they have had on nearly 50 years of pop music. McCartney is a tw@t though.

                              The Mersey Beats were a different band BTW, George.
