Anyway, over six hundred of your finest English pounds.
Tony - I am serious. Do you have any capacity in the not too distant future? Can PM if you prefer?
Phone him up, then laugh when he looks all confused when you turn up at the agreed time. Be prepared to find tools in various parts of your truck for at least six months after taking it in too.

    Contact details are here. http://www.4x4toys.co.uk/feedback.html

If you find it, don't mention the page with the heading as Tony is very delicate about that subject. I go to great lengths to avoid mentioning it.

But, anyway, yes, take it to Tony and he will see you right. I have driven (and caught the train) there several times from North London and wouldn't trust anyone else with my trucks,

And you need to wipe that little brown stain off the end of your noses.
actually they are correct. I do believe a member here had a 3rd gen visit various garages and was relieved of substantial amounts of wonga...the upshot was they said his transmission was uncle franked. He fixed it in a flash. There isn't too much he doesn't know about surfs, so badger him relentlessly and get him to do it, it will at least last the life of the truck.

I can't understand why the 'about us ' page should be a delicate subject...not everyone can carry off a mullet. But I won't mention it.

Also DO NOT distract Tony while doing an oil change as he forgets the oil is draining and looks up and gets oil in his eye,or forgets where he put the oil catch can and steps in it or forgets to put the catch can under the truck and fills the pit with oil buut apart from that he's ok..

Stevo does a one day head change service (see ad in top right hand corner of the page when it isn't the Adrian Flux ad) but you're not in the right neck of the woods for him.

My local garage charged less than £300 in labour (£280 if I remember correctly) for changing the head & I supplied all the parts to them. They aren't a Surf or 4x4 specialist just a reasonable garage that work on whatever car they get brought in. They're a good trustworthy business - if there is anything they aren't totally happy to do they generally point you in the direction of someone who can (or if they reckon someone else will be cheaper they'll send you there too).

My dad went to school with the guy who owns the place (and my eldest brother was at school with the owner's niece as well) but as far as I can tell we don't get any special treatment because of that - they're just a decent bunch of people.

My Surf went in on a Friday and I got it back the following Monday evening so they were working on it for more than a single day...

                      Hope this info helps!

EDIT: If Tony was local to me I'd no doubt take my Surf to him too!
