  • Sorry, W.UK, didn't notice it was Cooler with the 210bhp Surf...
and yes, stickers DO make your car faster, as does a loud exhaust and a noisy intake. In fact, K&N filters add approx 50 BHP to any engine, just by filtering the air a little better!

      • There's stickers and stickers too. Not all are the same. You can buy stickers from Halfrauds and they do feck all, but custom stickers tuned to your particular car done by a specialist with years of experience in tuning cars via vinyl and adhesive can be the difference between winning and 2nd place.

never trust your vehicle to people who dont know their ar5e from their elbow when it comes to speed tuning via logos and decals. Not only will you not get the performance increase you are looking for, but the wrong sticker fitted badly could be dangerous!

Stick to specialists such as these guys.

          • STRIPES STRIPES

Which rock have you lot been living under, its stripes that make a car go faster as in " go faster stripes" You never hear anyone talking about go faster stickers do you?
Yes, technically stripes can also be stuck on as well as painted, but they are still " GO FASTER STRIPES"

            • Of course there's go faster stickers! OK, the effects of go faster stripes are well documented, but with modern cars electronic systems, go faster stickers with their technologically advanced adhesives and polyvinyl matrices have quite big benefits when used correctly.

The OP's 'Razo' sticker is likely to be producing an extra 50 or so BHP if fitted correctly (and assuming its not one of these fake far eastern copies you hear about). The word is important too. Razo is close to the word used by teenagers in the 80s to describe how they'd been driving their car fast, as in 'been for a raz'

The japs picked up on this, adding an 'o' to the end to widen the 'raz' power band so it works better with a range of engines. The OP might find if he removes the 'o' and changes the spacing of the letters, he may be able to fine tune it increasing the power slightly, at the expense of torque in the low revs.

              • Apache are your slick stickers the vinyl variety or are they screen printed?

Have they been wind tunnel tested like the Razo hybrid tuning stickers?

Do your stickers conform with all Carlos Fandango tuning regulations ,giving more speed per surface area 2 ?

They are of course cut vinyl. Printed tend to fade with age, and the power drops off proportional to fade. My stickers are 5 - 7 year exterior quality, so given the current age of 2nd gens, will outlast the vehicle - and will probably provide some structural strength to 2.4s

As far as applicable standards go, look up the following :

Andrea de Cesaris AC100012-1997-B Class A for measurable power increase (applicable in mainland europe)
McLaren Specification BS265449 (a legal requirement for sticker use on UK roads)
BRDC Rule 101 - Obligations to drivers for stickers usage with respect to power increase for one make racing.

Mine have been tested to all these standards. You have to ask yourself, has Razo??? Well, has it??? I dunno. If it was my truck, and I didn't have info on who'd fitted it or if it was genuine, I'd remove it. Could damage your truck, or worse...

                  • Would airbrushed 'flames' make any noticable difference?

Airbrushed flames a much more aerodynamic and therefore increases your 0-60 time to just under 2 minutes therefore are cool

                          • Is there a link to these specialised tuning vinyls, with accurate application details ?
Is the use of a 3m SA-1 low friction sleeve made by the Transportation and Commercial Graphics Division in conjunction with an adequate solution of Detergent to application area ? Or do you just peel and slap it on ?

                            • Apache can supply you with PTFE stickers for less drag, but they need to be screwed on.
