I've seen a Colorado listed as Cat D repaired for a very good price (about £1.5k - £2k less than book for its age, 1999) so rang the dealer to ask what was damaged.
He told me plastic over-bumper, passenger side wing and passenger side headlight. from photos it looks clean, and he *tells* me the paint is a good match - you cant see its been painted. He reckons it was due to a slide on snow into a fence post last winter.
Should he have documentation for the repairs, or is there no legal requirement to do so for Cat D?
I appreciate that being registered as Cat D can make them hard to sell on (hence the price) but would probably keep it anyhow, as I regretted selling the Surf I had for 7 years the second the tail lights went out of view!!
