I was just looking at the tailgate on my truck there are 3 drain holes, one in the middle and two each end of the tailgate.It's not supposed to be water tight and is why when the drain holes get blocked the bottom of the doors and tailgate rot out!
Have a closer look at yours and you will find them!!!
