I hope not im sure with some buggering about it would be possible to re-align / lower the beam if necissary. So therefore should be fine...in theory

There may well be, but legislation cant be retrospective, so buy some now.

It's easy to lower the beam statically, it's compensating for load etc that's the issue. I'm sure it's been mooted here before.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Do Surfs normally have this function?
It must be automatic if so.....

I don't think they do, may have been an option though.

I didn't say it could be. But if they do ban after market HID lights, then it's illegal to use them, even if they were fitted before the ban. There are examples of this type of thing, but for the life of me, I can't think of one!

When I'm driving behind a Fiesta or the like, its really embarrassing as my lights totally illuminate the entire inside of the other car.

the kit arrived today, its fitted and is excelent. Im still trying to sort the negative switching, ill do it tomorrow and put a write up on here.

The manual with it is awfull, the worst install manual i have ever seen. I have just put the old lamp back in the unused point to sort the negative switching untill tomorrow.

The difference is amazing, i should have done it ages ago. Deff recomend doing it.

No little 'magic box' to convert negative to positive switching included??

It can be done with a relay..........

thanks, nope no relay with kit.

The instructions mention it however they appear to be for an earlier version and have no relevance to the the kit supplied.

I have emailed them so will se.

failing that ill make the rely, thanks for the pic.

The kit itself is excellent, shame about the manual and lack of switchable relay.

                            the law etc

Good luck guys but i guess its only a matter of time before plod starts doing random road checks for these.
Think of how they police against tinted windows.

I'm sure everybody on here would check their beam alignment etc but if you have ever met a car fitted with badly aligned retro fit HID's spewing light out every where at night... its no fun.
Only Projector type light units can accept HID retro kits the reflectors we have can't.

hi Vultch, i know what you mean about some of the retro hid kits spewing light out. I was concerned about that, but the direction / alignment of the kit I fitted surprised me. Ill take some photos and post them on here.
