    For stormforce

    Stormy

I deliberately looked for one which fit in the valance, doh, I'll shut up now as we have different cars. The slow moving bit though I'd service the viscous fan, I used the 6000 stuff and watched the temp guage under load and slowish going and it dropped from 90deg to 75deg. I'm convinced this is the major problem for the heads, viscous not working correctly under load and under twenty mph, I've still to pull the caravan which is 1800kg but watching the needle drop on a hot day loaded with garbage pulling up a heavy incline I was more than happy. There is more room behind my bumper as it stuck out further than most 3rd gens so i can fit something decent behind there.I have ordered that one terry put the link up for so hopefully that should sort that part out.I think i will do the viscous fan aswell then just to make sure everything is done.I have new atf, coolant and i have to order a new thermostat and rad cap and then thats everything done

I mounted mine behind the bumper and below the main radiator. There were a number of convenient holes in the metalwork behind for the fixings. I spaced the cooler about 15mm away from the metalwork in order for the warmed air to have somewhere to get out. On the bumper of my gen 3 there were two black plastic 'blanking' sections on the drivers side. I positioned the cooler behind these and cut them away to get the air into the right place.
Pipes were arranged so the oil goes to the auxilliary cooler first and then through the Toyota radiator - as suggested on a number of threads on here.
              Cheers,
              Mark
