I might be on the conservative side here, but my answer would be "the one that came with it."

The ECU will limit the amount of boost anyway.
You're better off spending the money on a free flowing exhaust system, it'll let the turbo spool up quicker and let the engine breathe better, which means more power to the wheels.

Why? It's a utility diesel lump, not really an engine that people usually spend a lot of time tuning.

If you really wanted to, I'm sure you could re-engineer something bigger to fit it, and then get a new ECU to control it, then upgrade your air pipes, filters and exhaust, find some bigger injectors and a new diesel pump to control them and then maybe get 20 HP more for a month or two till you overheat it and crack the head. If you want to.

iam not into talking about my plans i will only say bits

i need to cross deep water i crossed it before its safe but deep
plus i play in water i love it
my car dont let water in i can park in it
so i need diesel coz its better in water than petrol
its about getting to the right place at the right time to get what i want
i dont trust petrol and water they have always died on me petrols

A good 2.4 sounds ideal for that - no point pouring thousands into putting a new engine into a truck to wade it through rivers. Raise the intakes, waterproof the electrics, go swimming.

they are and i do when its fixed
but a 2.4 needs that bit more push when the water is past the wing mirrors
its best to stay in L or 2nd but still it feels powerless in deep water
hence no carpet coz if i start to float i need to let water in
then a 2.4 realy slows down
so if i had a bigger boost or engine just more power i would be happy
i could use it when needs be

i'll second that, they tend to crack the castings, but if you want more power and a bigger engine, then how about a 2.8 tdi diahatsui lump.
