    That should be 285...

Tyres on at the mo are 265/70/R16's. According to the calculator on my link, these are only slightly smaller than 31's?

Thought he was talking 15's as 16" tyres don't seem to come in that size format...my mistake.

        285/75 16's are close, £140 a pop at camskill.

Yep, mine came with 265/75-15s on it, which, I seem to recall were around the 31 mark, so a 70 sidewall on a 16" wheel will be about the same.

Dont get too hung up on sizes. Decide what you want the truck to do, and work towards optimising it.

<edit> I'm a muppet. It came with 16" aftermarket alloys. I changed to 15" steels (10" wide) to put 33s on. My original tyres would have been slightly bigger than 31" then, and didn't rub with no lift.

Right then, 265/70/16 are the standard 3rd gen tyres, (you have a 2nd gen, see what I mean about filling in the vehicle details?) the next size up without an modifications is usually 275/75/16. These fill the arches better on a strandard 3rd gen, so with a 2" suspension lift on your 2nd gen, they will fit OK.

Ah ok, didn't realise they were 3rd gen wheels! @ Apache, thx for the confirmation.
Will fill in some details soon! Thx guys, bedtime now! ZZZZzzzzz...

                  So, has anyone fitted these?
I've seen the 33/12.50's on a 4" total lift and it is a little bit too much as I need to use the surf for work.
Any recco's on where I can get 32/11.50/16 tyres? been googling them for an hour and not much joy yet!
You might be better working out the old fashioned size and searching for that e.g 305/75/16 (I just guessed that size, it's probably wrong)

Edit: I've said this before and I'll say it again - I really should read the whole thread before posting. :/

Either way take tyre shop advice with a pinch of salt! The Landrover specialist told me 33" would not fit on a Surf without serious modifications and doubted the lift I was doing would be enough.
I was also told that 15" rims are old, and tyre manufacturers are moving away from making tyres for that size rim, and are therefore becoming rare and are the reason why BFG 33" and other 15" rim tyres are difficult to get hold of.
Finally camskill informed me that BFG no longer conform to noise standards, so shops cannot buy them.

I'm not sure if I believe a single word of the above!

Dont know if this will help, but Ive got a similar setup to the one you describe. Difference being that mine are 15" rims ( Same 32" dia, though, Maxxis Bighorns ) With a 2" lift Ive had no problems, and only ever experienced any light rubbing a couple of times, and that was when reversing on full lock and quite a bit of articulation. Hope this helps....Some pics....Cheers....Mick.

Did you say you were going to show us some pics? Where are they, or am I being thick? (new to forum please be gentle)
Would like to see your set up as it seems the ultimate "compromise".
