any one know owt about osmosis?


its part of this projected

i have been a bit ill so i made my self do a few easyer parts of this project
i got a few samples of what it is iam looking for in the soil
and broke the sample down till it was just about dissolved in water

through a set of filters starting from 50 micron down to around 5 micron
and solidification with some good results
i think i can pull this off


now iam thinking i need to go the whole way by using osmosis
to see what else is left in the water the TDS is above tap water so there is something left in the water

but osmosis filters cost loads any one know why?
i only want to test the crap left in the filter to see whats left behind
i have to test this the whole way
i got to just to make sure the waters not polluted after osmosis too

I know LOTS about osmosis and semi permeable membranes. You just gotta make sure your media is thick enough to stop plaque/slime mould adhesion and watch your tmp's

osmosis dont take out pollutents only the minrels

i cant test it perfect with what i have here
i can test it enoght to know its still got minrels in the water that was not there when i started

Hi George...it won't work. It's been tried through the ages. To achieve decent and proper filterability, you will need a few hundred square meters of osmotic membrane. This stuff is mega bucks, something like £100 a square foot. You also need At least twice as much water as a ratio to membrane surface area. You need to aerate, you need to filter and you need to remove captured minerals with acid. You need the luck of old nick to find anything....but keep on trying George...good luck.

Oh btw, you will have a high level of pollutant in your end liqours.

i understand what ya saying iam only doing this small scale just yet
but to do it on a big scale i need space
that means i have to move it to bigger yard with lots of room with a run off that deals with pollutants

mi dads got one but he is useing it for fencing dip tho but not in winter
i still think its worth a shot

looks like i may need to dig out some of mi collectables to flog for funds
its keeps skinting me dose this

most experiments i needed to do are done
2 of them work 1 works but to do it on a large scale is something that i will never aford
iam also working on 1 different experiment thats part of this projected
it involves looking at geophysics the costly part

the 1 thats not ever going to be afordable or cost efective works like this

soil gets turned and broken down has this happends
i use a magnetic field to remove some elements

i broke these down by useing water
different sized filters
barrels for solidification
and a lot of patiences
i did managed to separate the elements
but to do this on a scale were i could help farmers by putting an end to crop rotation is more than i could ever do or aford to do

but there is 2 things i can still use my idea for
metal detecting
meteorite hunting

these are my hobbies anyway
so iam still buzzing with the idea
add that to some good geophys scans that iam looking into
it gives me a 3d image of whats under ground and i can tell what metal it is
the elcetromagnet cleans up before the scan and picks up any meteorite thats around too
once all this is made
i will be hopefully be able to hire me and the truck out to a very well known organisation

iam just very skint at the moment and makeing fitting these things to my truck is going to cost a fair amount of loot
plus my truck it needs some tlc on the front drive train then its all just about new from back to front
cant wait to get it back on the road coz it drives like new too

but i iz saving pennys so i cant have nowt

Do you have a real market for yout finished truck (i.e. is anyone gonna hire you?)?

Or is it basically you having a great time building a big, fat, boyz toy, and to hell with whether it works / makes your fortune etc!!
