well i will have my shed and surf done sometime april or so next year
then i can fit the electromagnet to a trailer and metal detector to the surf
and a telliscopic boom for the camara to go on to
and jobs a good un
just my shed to kit out after that
that may take another collection to be sold to pay for all the stuff needed but i think its worth it
i cant wait its a good feeling knowing its all coming togeather next year
hopefully i can land my first contract this time next year
i know who to aim this project at hopefully they will want to use it
then i will have a real job

the local shop only has 100m rolls and i could do with a 200 meter roll and iam unsure about what amp i need


question is about amps
i dont understand amps and wires and this needs to be spot on or it will set afire
i read all about it but come out the other side with still no idea
so i thought i would ask you lot

iam needing is how many amps dose the surf kick out?
and how many amps dose a luxurf kick out?

what ever it kicks out i need 200m of wire but the wire needs to be 1/3 more than the amps kicked out by the car or so?

anyone out there piont me in the right place for the wire at the right amps
i have only found 1 200m roll of wire and its amps was low so it must be thin wire
its hard to judge online

so any help out there dude i need a proper answer because this could be deadly to mess with
its fine if i get it right and at least a good fire if i dont

The stock Lexus alternator generates between 90-100 amps.

The 2.4 is around 65amps I think.

Have you worked out the volts drop across that when pulling 140A through it? You wont have enough volts at the other end to light a fairly light unless your cables are about an inch thick!

Did you use ohms law to get that answer? V/(I*R) = 'thickish'?

i did say that this part of it has boggled me
i truth there just too many words that i have no idea what they say
so in light of that i can not get to grasp that part
only other way i could get grasp is trial n error
and iam on a realy realy tight budget and would rarther not do that at this moment in time

so i could have this part compleatly wrong

Hello, just one little point, and I could be very wrong here so sorry if I am. But if you have a mahoosive magnet on a trailer with a considerable amount of pull, what would happen if you drove over something metal in a field that wouldn't pull out the earth, is there the potential that instead of pulling out the ground, the magnet would crush the trailer?
Also what if you drove over a WWII unexploded bomb or something?
