  • My poor Surf!!

    Hello Surfers,

I've only had my surf for 1 week but decided to go to Devils Pit today.
I mainly went just to have a look at the place and test out my 4X4 system.

I didnt get too carried away as i've never owned a 4X4 or been off road before.

I had a great time sliding about in the mud and water, i've only got road tyres on so took it easy.

The thing is, my surf is now covered in a chalky mud, and so is my engine and radiator!!

Will it be ok to use a jet washer on the engine, or just the radiator?
It will take a life-time to clean it otherwise,

    Thanks for any info, Stuart.

Devils pit mud sticks like sh*t to a blanket
You can use the jet washer on the engine but keep the engine running and try not to get the electrics to wet. The rad you need to be careful of because the power of the jet washer will bend the fins, you would be better off using your garden hose and yes it will take along time to get it clean

Thanks for the info, fellow surfers.
I will use the garden hose and small brush.
I suppose it will be my punishment for having so much fun!!
The surf looks good with mud all over it, like a real mans car!!

If I have been in mud, I put the garden sprinkler underneath the truck for a coupla hours. It helps.

I found Biosurf's rad cleaning write-up, good idea to make the pipe with holes in, and attach it to your hose so you could poke it down and get at the whole radiator! The man is a genius. I wonder if he has pattened the idea?
