  • BEWARE - Black Ebay Surf for sale in Andover

    Hi,

I just thought i'd warn people about a Surf (item 180479020644 on Ebay), advertised as being in good condition.

I wasted 2.5 hours of driving, and thought it would be best to let you guys know incase you decide make a journey and get dissappointed. I told the seller it wad a poor spares or repair (would never pass an mot).

    Faults i found were:
    Every panel scratched or dented.
Chrome peices dented to hell and rusty.
    rear window wont go up.
Interior smells like a horse and a bit tatty.
Engine sounds knackered, and has misfire & bad oil leak.
Rusty chassis, looks as its been bashed around quite a bit.
Poor repair of a frontal accident.
    4 bald tyres.

If i save someone a wasted trip, then my job is done...

Im just angry that he's still advertising it with no known faults, after i showed him all the damage / faults... I just hope some poor person doesn't get fooled into buying it. (although the poor condition is very obvious)

did you go to see this? It's not even roadworty, i have no idea how it would have passed an MOT???

That's the great thing about taking pictures in the wet, it hides a multitude of sins.

A good effort in trying to warn everyone (I'm not being sarcastic, I'd do the same thing) but the trouble is that the person who buys it won't be savvy enough to ask the questions they need to ask and won't be a member of a forum that can give them the info they need to make an informed purchase.

              Thanks,

              Ray.
I've got a plan and it's as hot as my pants!

It's one of those 2nd gens with ABS again. They only don't lock up because the brakes are buggered...

Is there no way to complain to eBay that the item is inaccurately described given that you've been to see it?

So the interior smells like a horse...that's nowt.
The interior on mine smells like a bag ladies dunghampers.
                            Non intercooled nothing.

Mine smells of dog sh!t, but thats because my son got in the back, and put the dogs poop bag under the rear heater.
