I rang the avian vets to arrange taking Harley there tomorrow to have put to sleep but at least he went at home i suppose.
We're having him cremated and will be buried with our dogs and cat at home

Really sorry to hear that Rich, was hoping he would pull through it but at least there's no more suffering for him. Aways gut wrenching losing a pet/friend, thoughts are with you and family mate.

sorry to hear the loss of your parrot... I lost one of my dogs, african grey parrot and to really stick the knife in ....my son. All in the space of 4 months...

Thanks everyone.
Harley is now being cremated and his ashes are going to be buried with the dogs ashes when we finally move.
It really feels strange not seeing his big cage beside me and him chatting to me as he did.
He was the first parrot we had and got him from a pet shop where he was kept in a tiny cage not big enough for him to spread his wings so at least he got to learn how to fly and have a bit of freedom.
