Just because you have a V8

Well I might have a V8 soon... rather like those 4.7 V8 Petrol LandCruisers
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL

      No my favourite TZR250

Had her for nine years, and toured the country on her.
That is to date the longest I've ever owned a vehicle, the surf is second place at 6 1/2 years.
      Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

The O/D button will prevent the car using it's highest gear, so if the hill is steep enough using this button won't have any effect. The only time you would use this really, is on the motorway when you get to a hill and maintaining speed causes the car to constantly change up / down / up / down. Pressing the button will keep the car in a lower gear and use slightly more fuel.
The ECT button waits longer before changing up a gear. Consider it as a sort of sports mode that allows more RPM before the car will change into the higher gear. This might be useful for the steep hills depending on how you drive / how fast your going etc.
              Give it a go
