          coolio....

          ...and pretty neat pipework.....most I have seen seem to route the air all round the engine...I suppose it depends on where the in and out pipes on the IC are.

          Was the scoop an easy fit?

            Hi Animal, I've been thinking about putting one on mine. Can you give me some info?
            What Intercooler did you use?
            Do you have a body or a suspension lift or does it fit witout one?
            Does it make much of a difference to the performance? I'm not after a rocket but better exceleration would be good, better fuel economy would be great!

              animal and i are both useing the same intercooler mine came from a pajero 2.5td, i don't think it would fit without a bodylift, performance wise it feels slightly better on acceleration, the main difference i find is up long hills it seems to pull better and the temp gauge don't move now under load

                as stated above, its straight forward to do, and makes a massive difference, the other main thing ive noticed is the noise, waste gate chatter and turbo spin, sounds like a beast now

                  So the scoop isn't needed to give clearance purely just to direct the air then?
                  did you make fitting brackets yourself?
                  Nissan Patrol for on-road, and a Land-Rover 110 shed for off-road :-)

                      pulling off from junctions seems quicker, top end is most noticeable, while doing 60mph put your foot down and it picks up much quicker

                      a mod definately worth doing id say

                          Yeap well worth doing, i used E34 BMW 525 tds intercooler, front mounted in the grill painted black (no bonnet vent), repostioned my air con/extra back up cooling fan, ditched the most of the air con, ditched the 2nd battery (for 1 big better one), air filter behind the headlight (k and N cone), custom pipe run and slightly trimmed the sides of the rad, goes better cleaner, pulls better, tows better, and mine flutters ( can get wastegate chatter, mad for a hilux)
