The Police have brought out a raft of new laws (and fines) here, To come up to European standards
I have to moan about it somewhere.

    Now I have to carry.
    Comprehensive 1st aid kit.
    Tow rope.
    Special hammer for breaking windows.
    Complete bulb kit.
    Fire extinguisher.
    Red warning Triangle.
    Hi-vis vest.
I might as well add a cuddly toy for good measure.

You don't have to have any of that in the UK do you?

I tell people that and they don't believe me.

          So?

I've carried that lot in my cars for years, law or no law. What's there to moan about?

I've got all that stuff in the surf for the big trips, but none of it in my daily driver. Think I've got it arse about face....

To be fair most of it seems a good idea in case you happen upon a crash or something..

Most of that is mandatory in many countries across Europe.
It'll happen here in Blighty eventually.
For now though, we have several breakdown services to fall back on, or the police, so long as you don't mind getting nicked at the same time!

                            Hi Tony,

Here, we have the highways patrol units (not the police). Who close
the motorway because, there's something on the road. (I don't think there's
a smiley for PANIC!!!) And, in Yorkshire, they have a 7.5 tonne wagon with
lights blazing, plus, rear water protection, to warn you of impending doom,
24 hours a day, but they will change your wheel for you, if you have a flat,
                            how kind!! What a waste.

                            Gman.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.

To be fair, that's sensible? Even if one's been forced to buy it (and it'll probably be largely useless), there's no point in having a piece of safety equipment that doesn't work?
