2 when parked up on hot days my handbrake jambs on well the rear shoes do ,reversing solves the immediate problem but then when driving for next 15-20 mins in the later stages of braking i.e. almost stopped they lock up , sometimes a little reluctant to release! could this be the leading edge on the pads???

    Hi Dizzy

Sounds to me like the top edge of the front shoe is digging in and not being released by the return spring. As you back up it pushes the shoe away from the drum. Could allso be that the shoes have not been backed off enough and just binding. Have a look on the web site and look at the brake shoe doc. It might be easier to understand.

    Good luck

Assuming you mean the stereo ????

Open centre console lid, remove securing screws from base. Remove two screws, one either side, from front outer edges of rear centre console (level with tip of handbrake lever, clearly visible). Slide rear console section rearwards about an inch. Lift trim around gear levers at rear, it will unclip, ease rearwards (it may help to move auto stick to 1).
Remove slider knobs from heater control panel. Remove facia from heating panel, this is the tricky bit, hard to pry off, very easily broken so take care. Behing this facia remove two screws securing centre dash portion. This centre portion can now be unclipped from dash, start at base and pull gently rearwards, dissconnect electrical plugs from clock, hazzard and HRW switches at top, lighter & ashtray at bottom. You can now access the radio/cd/pocket assembly which it secured by 4 screws.

Hope I've got this right as I'm typing from memory..... should be accurate enough...

Nice one Matt, the pictures speak many words. One question, one pic says to remove the screw on 4WD lever to remove button. Why so? I've never needed to remove it on mine when accessing stereo area.
