If I remember correctly it had SU carbs that were forever playing up.
I just remember a road trip to Bournmouth where it broke down every 20 miles or so with overheating problems. All my mates had Cortinas or Escorts and seemed trouble free (ish)
I sold it soon after and bought an Escort 1300 and quickly threw a 2.0 pinto engine in.
think the vauxhall monaro vxr should make it as a classic, although its essentially Australian, there's not much else with a 6ltr V8 on the British roads anymore, don't even think they fitted traction control to it rear wheel drive heaven
Not really, I went into the garage in 2003 for two new 'A' panels and an off-side front wing. Replaced the panels, and as they would need spraying, I thought I may as well respray the whole car so I stripped it out, including all the glass.
It's sat there ever since being used as a shed plus other stuff piled on top untill this week when the missus announced she would like it back on the road to use as a cheap run-a-round.
So I pumped the tyres up, fitted a battery and fired it up. One problem is that the clutch has seized too, can't push the pedal at all!
I'll be attacking it next week and at the same time trying to fit the electric tilt and slide sunroof that I saved from the Lexus.
p.s. it's going to be Ford Radiant red with a black roof and wheel arch extensions.

You're probably right, I think in the future there won't be any vehicles over 2000cc.
Or the tax on them will prohibit owning them.
