just west of wantage in oxfordshire

          http://muddymates4x4.com/

great site and every one is friendly like most places.

2 things to watch for, 1 is the usual zuks however they are usually sensible just come from where you dont expect them.
2 its a chalk quarry with the odd bit of slate, metal and broken glass around the place. so say bye bye to your tyres if you go gung ho.

          tis a great place though.

its pretty easy to get to though to be fair.

from westbury only an hour and a half to get there.

hehe 123k i have my suspicions the garage selling it didnt realise it was km not miles as he really couldnt belive it was this tidy. I know jap stuff is usually tidy but not like this! I think I got quite a good deal on it!

theres an oil leak over a pump of some sort but can only see it from underneath, its on the passenger side. but other than that and the odd mild spot of rust (will be attacking at some point) everything seems to be really mint!

                      Cheers

the oil may be from the oil filter being changed as there is a pipe that runs down from under the filter to take away spilit oil.
If its towards the front then it may be the power steering pump or fuel pump leaking

right who knows the saying if something looks to good to be true it ususally is.

took it to garage today for a cv boot (knew about) thought id get them to check it over, turns out at some point earlier in its life its been crashed.

after a good bit of chipping away at chassis they found all this.

                            http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/m...assis%20crack/

Which is not good, apparently (well now blatently obvious) it shouldnt even have an MOT. They said it was quite well hidden though, only hint was a flake of paint coming off. the crack could be seen quite easily once he begin looking harder though. (only looks like a hair line, but he reckons its deep enough to worry)

Really upset now and my hand hurts, funnily enough I owe my work a new window. yes i know bad temper and all that, which is really rare for me to get worked up.

Thank f**k for warranties.......ill be going down for my money shortly

                            cheers

                              oooh bu99er!

I cant really see much from the photos, but if you're not confident that its OK, you're doing the right thing getting your cash back.

Dont worry too much though. There's plenty of Surf's out there - you'll soon find another.

where the rigger for the suspension arm is just to the left, that is about half an inch deep indent, which was filled with filler. the suspensino arm isnt welded on straight. also dead centre of the pick the thing that comes away from chassis with a bush aint straight, and isnt actually attached all the way around, also the other side has the same again with filler and theres bulges in places.

i took it to the garage for the cv joint as the chaps really do know there stuff.
