  • BBQ Summer

Just watched the news, moans and groans about the lack of the promised BBQ Summer. Wonder why Scotland was excluded from this British Summer discussion.
Well for once I'm delighted as we have had the BBQ Summer, the weather up here has been great nearly every weekend since the middle of May.
Here's hoping it keeps up through Aug for our Southern Truckers run to Applecross. See you soon lads

As far as the BBC are concerned, you're not wrong!

As long as all the money spent by the gov't on Yorkshire = all the tax paid by Yorkshire I'm all for that... Put Wales and Scotland on the list too

So long as we get our Oil, Gas, costal and inland waters, whisky and tourism revenue; I'm happy with that

                I'm fine with that....

I absolutely loved Scotland when I honeymooned there in '93 (near Gairloch)

I'd rather have a seperate England , Scotland and Wales... Dunno what to say about Ireland though...

Been up that way a few times, it's hard to describe how beautiful it is to people who've not been there. Did you go to Corrieshalloch Gorge?

I know folk from Gairloch village, spent some brilliant holidays up there. The Gairloch Inn used to have 3 price lists, Lounge, Bar and Locals...

I don't recall Corrieshalloch Gorge but the Gairloch Inn sounds familiar - My missus asked for a Southern Comfort and coke - The coke was a hint of with a ' you don't want to droon it do you? "

                        Love it

                        Rob.

It's on the road to Ullapool, a nice deep gorge with a flimsy suspension bridge over it. Victoria Falls, on the road South is spectacular (in spate) too.

                            Sounds great.

After the huge expense of going to South of France this year (next Friday ), a drive up your way seems cheap in comparison.

Aye, get your arse up here next year. Some of the scenery is unparalleled, it's the weather that let us down some times. That said, some of the scenery is better when there's a bit of mist or some Autumn going on...
