After an invite like that, how could I possibly refuse?!

I keep telling Brian I'll bring the missus up there. Maybe a birthday outing for her...

Some of the places we'll be going on the SMC outing in a couple of weeks are good. The road from Lochcarron to Applecross is one of life's must drives.

It is AWFULLY nice here andy (im on the west coast ).....the weather has been uncharacteristaically (sp) fantastic, the seafood fine and the whole town is waiting with baited breath on the fat sooutherner and his wife's imminent delivery of new children.
        Non intercooled nothing.

Should get back up there and do some camping.

OK, so we decided we're gonna have another go at New Year in a log cabin up your way.

Any of you north of the border chaps help us with a good deal? We'd probably want a few days up there to do a bit of touring around, a bit of blether and a few beers.

If you want to do winter in a cabin it has to be in Aviemore. It's fookin brilliant when the snow arrives.
If you are there for hogmonay then you get the pipe band in the street and the pubs are rocking!

Looking for something quieter TBH. Not really looking to party hard, more to soak up some stunning scenery and some peace.

Would certainly be up to a few beers with you all though!

We're dropping the kids off on 27th when we visit family, and would drive up on 28th. Any suggestions for log cabin / cottage in stunning scenery with maybe a nice pub local but away from the masses would be welcome.

                  Not after much, am I?

This one is just of the a9 but feels like the middle of no where.
a dozen cabins max very quite, by a river lovely setting Avi is a 15min drive.
Your welcome to it on your own mate. I know peace with no kids is golden at times.
