i know wich i choose tho cost or quality
if its not quality then i walk away and that dont matter what the shops name is
if its good quality then i'll have it
I agree!
I will happily pay extra for quality - you buy cheap -you buy twice!!
Incidently - halfords were the cheapest i could find when replacing both my batteries on the truck - and i got a free england world cup flag!!
my local motorfactors (independant) is helpfull at times - but sells cheaper makes (silverlink etc). other main line stuff - oils - fluids - polishes (dirty word!!) i find a lot cheaper and leading brands at morrisons!!
Halfords can be cheaper on some things - but will take your eyes out for others - a bit like B&Q. a small bag of screws £30 - 1 tonne sand £30.
I just shop around on the net - ebay/halfords etc etc - if you know the approximate price / quality you're after - you won't go far wrong.
my head is nowhere near my arse, sorry to disappoint you!
i take great pride in the service i give my customers and always go out of my way to ensure they get what they want.
i agree they have their place, all i was mearly stating was that there are alternatives to halfords, their pro tools are great, i have many but on the whole they are charging at least twice the price than what we used to charge for exactly the same items. people should be made aware thats all, call it --compare the car part suppliers.com, (enough of a sense of humour or would you like more)?
i have plenty of terrible jokes i could share but seeing as i dont know you i would not find it acceptable to offend you! (some members please take heed of this statement)
do not judge what and who you do not know and do not insult someone for offering an opinion, democracy? not here.
what are your skills then????
I think he knows a bit....no hang on ..a great deal about motors, a knowledge you could possibly envy!
I go to Halfords cos I like shiny things and enjoy looking at rows and rows of auto stuff and Barry Boy merchandise, I walk round giggling!
I also use motor factors for other things!
I go wherever I find has the thing I'm looking for!
The motor factors around me are full of "geezers"!
Example:-
"Could I have a 5L drum of Dexron III please?"
"er!, whats it for pal?"
"It's for my Hilux Surf's autobox!"
"Er, erm! What year is it pal?"
"Why?"
"We need to check, see if we got it" (goes to computer).
"It's 1993!"
"1993! you sure? Paddy!" (calls friend), "we got any Dexron III?".
"er!, whats it for?"
"It's for a Hilux Surf's autobox!"
"A what?"
"Hilux Surf"
"Er, erm! What year is it pal?"
You know the story!
With Halfords if they have it you can grab it!
One thing I hate about motor factors is I can't get my mitts on anything to read the labels unless they pass it over the counter!
One near me exactly like that!! plus they never put the prices on anything displayed, i went through the same procedure with a fuel filter, ended up geting it from milners, they only wanted me to take off the filter on the truck so they could compair it to their stock, to$$ers!
