I must admit that I get rather irritated by "would of" as well as the other usual suspects mentioned.

Like Gwa I sometimes have to run my eye over documents produced by the product of our higher centres of learning and the standard of English is generally abysmal - what's worse is that our clients are actually paying for a large proportion of the documents with taxpayers money .....

This is what happens when you create clubs and associations and the like. It all seems like a good idea at first, a bunch of like minded people getting together. Then it goes all to hell, you need a few rules, of course you do, without rules you have anarchy. Then someone decides you need a few more. Then the jobsworths in your midst find that you need even more, and not only that, they have to be STRICTLY enforced. Not just enforced, no no. They have to be STRICTLY enforced. At some point it all gets too silly and repressive for words. Before you know it youve got as many rules and as many jobsworths as a golf club. The club which seemed like such a good thing has now been destroyed.
