That's the best advice.Originally posted by Sancho View PostIf I had the choice, I'd have a proper (CRT) telly, but no-one seems to sell them anymore.
Wouldn't touch either plasma or L.C.D, personally. Saying that though, with the crap they're throwing out via digital broadcast these days, and the crap processing circuitry which seems to be used with most T.V's I've seen, pictures can't really get any worse whatever you get.

Ironically, however, thanks to the likes of the news channels and such, screen burn has a higher probability of occuring these days than it used to have. Channel 5 is about the only channel which uses a soft logo that I can think of offhand. The news tickers and hard logos can induce screen burn over time.Originally posted by Bogus View PostThe "burn in" effect from Plasma is also not an issue if your not showing still images and if you turn the contrast down from the default high setting.

They can be programmed to "screen wipe" at set intervals to prevent this and set to extended life.Originally posted by MattF View PostIronically, however, thanks to the likes of the news channels and such, screen burn has a higher probability of occuring these days than it used to have. Nope 6 yrs, go into menu and select screen wipe and then select every 5 to 60mins.
Then the screen goes through white to black then back to pic.
If you go into adsa or tecso and the screens are white grey or black for about 60 secs it's wiping the screen.http://www.apspropertyfix.co.uk/

Go into somewhere like pcworld or comet and have a play with the pics on tvs and see the difference, samsung pic was a lot crisper than some bravias.Originally posted by breakdowntruck2 View Postim guessin u have sumthin to do with tvs work wise??lol
