  • 3rd Gen Buzzer " how To Disconnect"

This method is for the door open & keys in ignition buzzer.

Don't know about you lot but it used to really do my head in.

All you need to do is open the small fuse box door below the steering wheel, you will see a white block connector under the fuses.

Now locate the "pink & black" wire then simply cut it, hey presto no more buzzer.

You will still have the buzzer for the head lights.

I have not done the same with the reverse bleeper cos i think that would be a bit dangerous when parking.

Not sure if its the same for the 2nd gen.

All you need to do is open the small fuse box door below the steering wheel, you will see the loom running down the side of the fuses.

Now locate the "pink & grey" wire then simply cut it, hey presto no more buzzer.

It would be better if the reverse alarm sounded on the outsdie when reversing to warn idiot sucidal pedestrians! If you don't know you are reversing then you should not be behind the wheel!

                ...nope.....chickened out....

..far, far too many wires under there to be sure.....alarm/imobiliser, fog lights, additional speaker wire (although god knows where this goes as I only have the standard in the car).

Found one Pink/grey (ish) one, but can only see the top of it where it goes into a long white plug...and it doesn't run down the side from what I can see, it comes up from underneath into this white plug.

....I also appear to have lots of multiblock connectors under there.

I may have to have a longer look later.

You can keep the picture of my fuse box and add it to your "fusebox pictures" collection

Yours looks a little different to mine.
With yours being an early 3rd gen maybe the wiring is the same for both 2nd & 3rd.

I would'nt want to commit to that cos if im wrong it could end up with 2nd gen owners knocking on my door cos ive told then to cut a wire that goes to the ECU or something.

If a second gen owner would like to look at there wiring & compare the two photos & even cut the wire i will edit the thread so that everyone can benifit from it.

Hummm, looks a bit more tricky than ours, still worth doing to get rid of the chimes though.

                              Good find mate.
