Yes the 33s will obvoiusly do some damage to the fuel consumption.
The odometer reading being inacurate makes sense as well.
Apache - are you running a 2.4 or 3.0 ? as you have the same setup as me and youre getting way better milage...
But to sum it all up Andy's remarks about runing a 13 year old truck probably sums up my thoughts as well. I didnt buy it for the fuel economy..
I just thought I would check, as fuel consumption data can give you some insight as to the overall condition of the engine.
Measured it again yesterday, as I went up to Scotland, and it was 16.37, still terrible, but I dont think I'll bother with calculating the exact milage to compensate for the inacurate odometer.
Would be interesting to know what guys with 3.0Ls and 33 muds were getting, using the odometer readings, as this is obviously a signifcant factor to the results.
Continued use of veg oil is said to deposit a 'varnish' on the injectors which will affect the spray pattern so reduce the efficiency of the burn. I doubt redex will sort it. Perhaps remove them and get them cleaned properly at a diesel specialist. Thinking of doing that too.
'sparks, yep, your fuel consumption is lower than it should be.
