4wd selection question - help needed pls

How interesting. We're going to have to revise the usual statements to "don't use 4wd on road, except in a 3rd gen, except for the ones that don't have a centre diff" and "you can't put 2nd gen wheels on a 3rd gen apart from the earliest ones, which you can".

Its a bit strange this surf, can't see there being that many in the country, first one ive ever seen or heard of anyway. Wonder what else is different on it. Might be a pain when it comes to ordering parts.

When I come to order bits, I'll just have to measure everything very thoroughly.

I do like the clean shape of it though , without all the plastic on it.

The spare should wind down from a hole in the rear bumper "little flap thing" at top right hand side, its sort of in the door frame "i think".

Just make sure you quote the model and frame number if getting genuine parts.

I have a feeling this Surf is a special batch that may have been produced for someone such as the UN. Narrow body. No rear spoiler. Lack of cosmetic stuff etc.

The EPC has lots of strange letters and numerals included under these models.

Hmmm...mixed blessing.

..found hole for lever.

...however the lever is the one that comes with the jack....this car came without a jack....and lever....I knew about the lack of jack...was not aware it was needed to lower wheel.

I'll have to try to get something made up.........or get one from a scrappy.
