Phew!! L/C springs on

After a struggle, not to bad a job and just about enough height in the garage,
getting the axle back up and in line was the worst bit, i ended up haveing to disconnect the other sway bar thing (forgotten the sodding name already Rod, sorry) in order to be able to drop the axle enough, got the bolts through em and had enough for the day, not so easy on me own, couple of wet arse moments when the jack slipped off the axle, surprising how fast one can move when ya have to finish off tomorrow, i'm buggered, lucky i have recesses where the florsent tubes are in my garage, the small spotties on the back just tucked up into em for the extra bit of height i needed,
i think it's just about gonna go in there when it's finished, front roof lights are just clearing,

looking good ian,now all you need is some ally spring tops to stop them coils slipping off of the rubbers.and an adjustable panhard rod

Glad to see things are going well, i was a bit surprised to see them dirty springs on your truck, ran out of paint, have we?

Ya springs look a little bent, is that down to the seating compared to the Surf ones.?

If you are in need of a 24mm tap for the pan rod thing then let me know i have just got hold of one to do my truck when i can afford the extra lift, so I'll not need it for some time.

cheers, Mark! should i have fitted alloy plates on the top then, i thought it looked a bit hit & miss, the l/c springs dont seat as well as the olduns but i guessed thats how it was supposed to go, Gonna have a go at working the original rod, see what taps and bits of steel bar i got,
thanks for the offer Roy, may take you up on it if i dont have anything suitable, the springs just went like that, bendy, hope they sort themselves out when its all back together, or i'm in the pooh, some stubborn nuts on there, but the good old WD gets em in the end

you should be ok ian,unless they get picked up on an mot as an advisory,we have got five sets left in stock,not making anymore,so when there gone there gone.

Just so i know how much are they and there not the 2" lift ones are they, cant afford to go any higher or it wont go in at all

The way things are going at work i don't think I'll be doing my lift in 2009 as predictions are not good for the car industry, so i have got the 24mm tap you can borrow and a 13" length of 24mm bar you can have if you want it, I'll not need it now.

Sorry to hear that Roy, this slump is hitting everyone it seems, if you can make most of the bits you'll need it'll keep the costs down (thats why i'm reworking my old panard rod) just cant spent much more on it, just got enough for the mot so if it fails thats that, off the road indefinatly, i'll keep your kind offer in mind mate, see what bits i have first,

If a mod involves making things I'll give it a go, but the lift involves new springs and I'm not prepared to take food off the table for an extra 2"

Yes the recession it hitting most people and hitting some hard, its not got me yet so I'm taking the bull by the horns and put a stop on spending so hopefully ride it out, it all depends on how long Toyota can afford to pay people to do nothing, but life carries on and i am in a better position than most, i have a job!

Scuse my ignorance Ian, but do you have +2" shocks on with those L/C springs, cos biosurf's springs didn't look all bent like that when we did them a few weeks ago! ( and we didn't use the alloy locators at the top either as they didn't fit properly!)
Just an observation ( hope it doesn't sound critical)

am reading up as much as i can finding out exaclty wot i need, i would hate to strip it all and then realise once its up on jacks am missing sumthin ,,,

didnt know about those ally spring tops you and stien have been talking about, thats something i need to pm him about ...

I got my Pro comp shocks the other day, i got the +2" ones but they dont look that big at all, infact they look quite small, the LC springs look FAR too big for them ???
