The whole idea of the non-return valve is so nothing goes back up the tube.
It doesn't matter what you 'fail to see' we're trying to help you here!

The NRV cannot and will not seal (it isn't matched or machined), nor will the joint between the NRV and the tube, the tube and the wee bit of rubber that goes to the nipple and the wee bit of tube and the nipple.

It doesn't take much air to bugger things up. Air in a hydraulic system will always move towards the point of lowest pressure. It doesn't miracuoiusly appear there, it has to be moved there. The only way to move it is to quickly drop the pressure in your hydraulic system. This pressure drop cannot be attained using the eazibleed thing. It has to be done the way (or a similar way) that Jess told you.

Please, feel free to think I'm a fanny, but do what has been suggested; it will work.

And BTW, the Master cylinder is a pig to bleed and MUST be 100% air free before you start on anything else.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Well, she went in to a local 4x4 specialist on wednesday to be pressure bled.
The brakes are still not sharp, and there is stil some pedal travel.
Thier opinion is "the front pads are still bedding in" ( Ferrodo for example say thier pads require at lest 100 miles)
They also say "it could be the servo on its way out"

So at the moment it's driveable (the pads have now done over 130 miles)
but it's still not quite right!

Had a look at that hose the other night(at Gra's suggestion )
Seems to be ok, might have another look and change the clip just to be sure tho!
                Cheers Mark

alan the easiest way to test the servo is to pump the brake pedal a few times with the engine off, keeping your foot held on the pedal start the engine and the pedal should drop a further inch or so.if it doesnt start looking in the servo area.

                      Did your test Mark!
Pumped pedal, turned on motor, pedal travels down a fair amount!

I reckon the pedal is within the limits stated in the manual.........
