So far i am working from the advice and opinions of the mechanics from the forum, and three others, one of whom was helping me last sunday.
As for the 'easibleed' being my problem, i dont see how this can be anything other than an aid!
It's a piece of clear pipe with a rubber connection to the bleed nipple, and non-return valve at the other end! I'ts supposed to enable you to bleed the brakes on your own (which i would never do!)
How is putting your finger over the nipple going to tell you if you have got the air out? At least with the easibleed i can SEE wether there are air bubbles or pure fluid coming out!
(comment edited out, with apologies to Albanach)
Wasn't in a good mood with it all this morning.

I think you'll find many people ignore your post's because of the "holier than thou" manner in which they are written, and not due to what they actually contain!
I personally don't think it sounds like "holier than thou" manner, more like experienced talk whether it be a Surf or any mechanical experience ...
Having trained in Car Mechanics (Apprenticeship) n also a Diesel Fitter n Engineering, I always referred to my self as a Motor engineer n maybe I read things in an engineering/mechanical sort of way ...
I now leave the more complicated fitting to others nowadays (as some of you know my condition) I can only tinker now, But I still advise based on my experience.. some good, some no so of 40 years !!!!
Whilst I'm still mechanically minded, I'm not always practicably able ...
And so is the case on the Forum n with all things in life, some people are able but don't have the confidence n others don't have the inclination or motivation for such things Mechanical/Technical so leave it to the likes of Bushwhacker's, Surfenstein's, Tony N's etc, etc
(sorry if I missed any one out but these are only some examples)
PC's are my downfall .... Oh shoite !!
ps.
It could also have something to do with the way a piece is (written/typed) put into words or the way it's interpreted by the reader .....

There's always a Payback .... Just don't expect any warning !!!!Buncefield Burner

Your problem is that you're failing to bleed the brakes properly, the bit of plastic you're using as an aid will not work, trust me! If you sit down and actually think about the pressures in a braking system and exactly what it is that causes the air to be expelled from the system, you'll realise why it can't work. You need a considerable pressure drop to move the air from where it is to where you want it to be, there's no pressure drop when you use the hose, so all that's happening is the fluid in the hose and system is moving backwards and forwards.
Bleed the brakes the way Jess has told you and all will be OK.Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

The whole idea of the non-return valve is so nothing goes back up the tube.
As i said before i dont rely on this. I have someone else to push the pedal, and i lock off the nipple exactly how Mark has just said.
Wether i put my finger over the nipple or use the tube should make no difference to the amount of air being bled from the brakes.

Tried Marks stick against the pedal last night. It seems to have made a difference , but not what i hoped. The pedal now goes a lot further down before biting, but then sloaly descends the rest of the way still. No fluid loss anywhere!
Started the engine tonight and lowered the steering wheel (that the stick was wedged against) withe engine running ( servo on) i pushed the stick further down and re wedged. Will check it again tomorow.
In the meantime i'm going to find a local place to pressure bleed the system.
