Finally got my surf back together, didn’t seem to take long this time and no problems bleeding the coolant, made life so much easier with the fill mod to the heater matrix pipe, well apart from leaving the drain valve partly open, turns out that the head was warped after its removal from slugsis truck, so I have definitely learnt my lesson, get the replacement head skimmed or at least checked next time, more new head bolts and new gasket fitted, this time from RoughTrax, they are so much better quality, compared to eBay, another lesson learnt.
Just taken her for a 5 mile run with no overheating concerns, all blowers run hot and no bubbles in the expansion tank, so hopefully all is well.
Just need to ring up Toyota and book in for the steering recall and then fit my up rated jinxed springs from Jokers truck, Or am I pushing it with the springs, they don’t seem to bring much luck to whoever has them.
well done mate 11/10 for effot, glad u stuck with it,i think u were getting close to throwing throwing the towel in
I did feel a little despondent, one might say, or pizzed off you could call it, but I'm a tight git and i wont throw anything away that i may one day get going.
People do say you learn by your mistakes but unfortunately the last cylinder head i helped with needed skimming (ally) so i should have known better.
