  • Useless....

I'm fed up with plumbing! My hand isn't getting any better an the pain at times is spreading into my arm!

So heavy going labour jobs are pretty much out!! A bloke who i did some bits for has told me to go an see his doctor mate! He thinks he'll be able to sort my hand out! So thats going on the "to do" list!

But still... i thought i'll check out some careers advice!

Found an online one on the job centre website.

    Useless!!!

You click on whats "most like me" "like me" "less like me" an "not like me"

Most of them are sh1t questions an its come back with a list of a million jobs they reccommend!!

How bl**dy pointless. I want some direction for a job!!! Not just thrown out there without a clue

Ah, you've discovered that wonderful world of job seeking. The job centre stuff is a complete and utter waste of time. They think everything relates to everything else. T0ssers.

To be honest, Ive got myself in a nasty rut.

I've kinda lost any drive with it!

Im not miserable but i f**king detest those "postive" do gooding bullsh1ters.

You know the motivational sort! TW*TS!!!

I know if i go to a job centre all im going to get is just fobbed off. On paper i dont sound very good at all. I dont want to end up in some dead end sh!t hole job.

I would go to some temp agencys but they are no real use around here.

I would like to go into something like councelling. I've found the open university course i would need an its affordable but then its getting a job in that subject after ive got the qualification.

Plus i dont even know if i reeeally want to do it.
Ive always been the agony uncle to pretty much everyone i personally know.

But like my Dads said to me, how would i feel if i got someone who i just couldn't help?! It could be a very depressing job.

Jobcentres are not there to place people in jobs.
Their prime purpose is to employ additional bureaucrats at the taxpayers expense. They have no incentive to place people in work, otherwise they would ultimately become redundant. They have a vested interest in not finding people jobs.

          Thats a good point.

But ultimatly if that is the case then Myself an people in the same situation as me are f**ked!

I am not a retard!! I am cabable of doing most things. I just need a few minutes an i can get my head around anything.

I was given some advice but ultimatly trained myself on how to use Autocad.

So i could do something cad based but i just get bored with it after a while..

Main point to remember is to not be too fussy. Nuggets can be found in weird places.

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean. I detest those with a vengeance. 'Must work well within a group'. My arse. Does wanting to throttle people constitute as being a valid 'team member'? I occasionally look through the job section of the newspaper just so that I can whinge about how many companies have those vomity type job adverts, (and it seems to be most, these days).

                      in same boat now too.

just got my lgv 2 last tuesday and everyone wants experienced lgv drivers unless its multidrop which i'm not going to do.

there's jobs with no exp. ness but they're just far away enough to make fuel cost compared to earnings pointless.

just cost me £1600 to get this license plus the bits to the £112 for medical and £38 for digitach. never been unemployed, but i'm not enjoying it at all.

you just gotta keep at it mate and something will come up and you'll be good again. btw, those exercises not helping anymore?
i swear, it was like that when i got here...

It's probably 'those' exercises which are exaccerbating the hand pain.

Seems to be a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't these days. Some places want silly, (and often useless), amounts of qualifications, and then some want stupid amounts of experience whether they are relevant or not. Realism left the equation quite a while ago.
