i remeber one of the better ones in my day were the audioline 341.they were a good rig back then and if you had one you were bloomin lucky as they were exspensive.I used to have one with a 5/8th silver rod on top of 2 scaffold poles.you could see the scaffold poles from accross the road in front of the house then the silver rod on top.so from the floor to the top of the antennea it was about 45ft high and people hated it when iwas online cause i used to wipe out half the town lolhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/henpals/

they said it was too hight and an eye sore
so i got it put on a few poles then on to the roof
we lived in the vally then
cant remeber what sort it was
but i drew a lot of cash out the back to buy it £500
back then that was loads of loot to a 7 year old
i worked hard for that yep i worked back then tooam not die lex sick its you that cant read mate

That is a lot...
these days u can get a Midland Alan for about under £100 including aerial and mount..
The Midlands are one of the best..
I don't have on in the house like but I am a radio amateur too so I used to have plenty big aerials on the roof....
Nobody ever complained tho...One day at the time I guess..
