  • finished putting the CB in the ashtray slot... (PIC)

Well then I got myself a new Midland Alan 121..
Have just finished installing it where the ashtray was...

It only took me an hour as well from start to finish..
40 mins yesterday and 10 minutes just now.. that is including setting the CB up lol

Have a sirio high power antenna on a bonnet mount and wirred the power straight to the battery..
Was gonna put an isolator switch on but did not have time and wanted the radio in...

So all ready now for Wales on the satnav and communication side of preparations.....

This is what it looks like, sorry for the crappy Phone picture but it gives u an idea...

One day at the time I guess..

          here u go mate,

Just attached with 4 grub screws...
the little "flap" on the top keeps it very secure u see..
also with the sirio being just an stainless whip it is not as breakable and better signal...
it is a little more expensive this way but it works well...

                    Hey,
They are ok but I am not a big fan of magmounts..
I had a triple one for a while and that did not get off but I still like the bonnet mount as they put the aerial a little lower too..

If u decide to buy a magmount then put a springer on it or get a triple one with the sirio.. (as a matter of fact I still have it taking up space in the storage..)

Also when u buy one of Hamradiosupplies tell him u know me as u get discount.
