Well I hope the water isn't too deep, as I don't have a snorkle, can't afford one, and don't want to jerry rig one, as I know I'll not be happy with it.

I'll live with out one for another year I guess.

if you plan on going in realy deep water
i would fill in the drain hole in the air fliter box
if ya hit deep water hard it comes up throgh there mate
and if your in deep water (like over the bonet) for a long runn
it will get your engine throgh that little drain hole
also there are 2 rubber dungs just under the back seats
get under just between the doors and ya will see em
put a hard bord in the inside of ya truck in the back seats footwell
put a bit of wait on the bord
then pull out them rubber bungs and fill em with form filler
only a bit like
put in the rubber bungs while the form is still wet
that will stop the back carpets getting wet
mine did float but i have a 2" gap running down the boot
there are a few more holes in the bulk head too
not that they let much water in but better to fill em

hi tobyjug i know this was last year but i was really impressed with your DIY snorkel write up

So much so that im going to copy it if thats ok

was just wondering if there where any problems with rain water etc getting in the main reason i want to carry out this mod is just to get colder air into the engine.

cant forsee much paddling any additional info would be great

yeh copy it if you wish no problem.......
but if you want a better airflow to the engine just get a bodylift...
The original air intake is just behind the headlight so I am not sure it will make a massive difference having it original or having a gnome's house if you are not wading much....



I have an intercooler here cheap if you want.... might be better....
