        And ask yourself

1 - how many peeps with snorkels have ever been through 4 foot or more of water

b - deep water flows over the bonnet and down past the vent - even when headlights are submerged, which is what happens on the Strata.

thirdly - when in 4 foot or more or water, you ain't worrying about your snorkel, as your tootsies will be getting moist (oooo, errrr)

When I was into Series Land Rovers a lot of guys bought Defender snorkel tops and then fashioned their own snorkels using lengths of black drain pipe and bends from B & Q and the end result usually looked quite good.

Boyo, I know that yours is a DIY modification...... but I’m sorry to say it actually “looks” like a DIY mod done by some back street bodger. Somehow I don’t think there will be too many people rushing out to copy you

A snorkel (IMHO) is an insurance against badly misjudging a bow wave and getting a wave over the headlamps, thats all.

The fact that it sits at the top of the screen is irrelevant. If its above the wheel arch, I aint going in. Its my daily drive, why would I want the interior to stink like a wet dog just for the sake of bravado and a pic proving I'm a plonker in the back pages of TOR?

Therefore, Boyo's mod to his old truck works.

                  I agree with u Andy..

I think Boyo did a good job and to be honest it looks good too..

I am gonna stick me little chimney on and that will do....
If I had seen Boyo's before I wud have done it that way too me think seen as I still had one of them pipes...

and in between times I think if you remove the stock air intake pipe that exits behind the headlamp you can turn ith through 180 degrees so it exits at the very rear of the engine bay. I think it just fits and as Apache says you're going to have to be pretty screwed anyway to get much water that far back. And its free
