Bet you haven't had an accident yet? In my motoring years (more than 20) I've had 3. A real humdinger 'sky-ground-sky-ground' total loss and a couple of minor 'stupid git' bumps, but pay so much less?

Explain that one! Insurance companies, almost worse than injury claim lawyers!
Exactly, it's unbelievable. Those quotes were for a 2.4 1993 Surf, with just Third Party! not even theft

are you not telling us something?
Like you're royalty and under threat of terrorist attack or something??

I guess the name would sort of make sense.

Nope, just a student who wants a huge 4x4

I've driven a 08' Range Rover on a 4x4 track and would love to get into 4x4'ing. Although the Range Rover is practically a computer on wheels so I felt sorta detached while driving it, esp with the stuff like Hill Decent Control

Dont bother with onlne quotes there are crap, when i had my pick up, 3.5V8
4" body, 5" suspension lift, 36" tyres, bob tailed etc Aidrian Flux on line quote was £689 third party. I phoned them up £242 third party, I also tried three other insurance companies online andthen phoned, all the phone quotes came in a lot cheaper than the online quotes, none matched Aidrian Flux.
I think the online quotes are give em a quote and if they pay it all well and good.
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.

do be careful about getting more than a few quotes in your own name as this can adversely affect your credit rating.

im thinking of downsizing to a suzuki sj, only a 1.3 but never the less still good off road

honestly i looked and looked for ages for cheap qoutes but the cheapest i came up with was around £3500 so i just tried to get a qoute for a suzuki sj and its only £1800

                    I was thinking that too!

SJ is probably better for serious offroading than a Surf, though give me Surf comfort for laning and long trips ANY day!

                    Horses for courses.

I'm a Credit Manager by trade and I've never seen any mention of insurance quotes on a credit check from any of the reference agencies. What will effect a credit rating is if you are looking at getting quotes for a loan from a number of suppliers, even if you don't actually take out the loan with any of them.

There seems to be conflicting opinions on this. some say that as it creates a query on your report and some companies look for the number of queries on an individuals report then a lot in a short space of time can adversely effect it. Others seem to say that these are 'soft pulls' which are on the report but not something co's take into account like applications for credit so they are fine.

I just tend to keep on the safe side.

Ah well, my dad/mam wouldn't insure themselves as the main driver because it's 'fraud' so looks like there isn't really a way to get insured at all.

                                How is that fraud?
I mean the truck is insured, ur a named driver so entitled to drive it...

I see no fraud there at all...
