Just a heads up about possible brake failure.
Whilst offroading today I lost my brake peddle, straight to floor. I had recently fitted new braided hoses and I thought that a join or bleed nipple had failed.
Turns out it was the pipe below reservoir/servo that goes to the rear brakes.
It has a coil turned into pipe to allow a bit of flex and the edge of one of the coil turns had been gently rubbing against the lower inner wing causing a small pinhole, the pipe was in otherwise excellent condition. It normally has a foam/rubber sheath over the pipe at this point but this had slipped down.
It's always worth checking the condition of brake pipes and the routes they take to check for things like this. I'm glad it happened offroad under light braking and not in the event of an emergency on the road.
I'll fit a new pipe tomorrow and make sure it is routed away from anywhere it could get damaged.
