  • rad drop brackets ---PLEEEASE

Does anyone know where I can purchase some radiator drop brackets for a 2.4? Or is there someone who can manufacture them? I am howevwer on a strick schedule I need them by Wednesday the 2nd of July, so in about a week. No pressure though.

Dont know, would that work? Would rather do a proper job, just the same, as its a long drive to Drumclog.

cowl removal does the same job... and makes the rad easier to clean!...

the rad drop brackets i had were just 2" strips with a hole each end... pretty simple

No you can't you need a proper truck 3.0 to get away with that. If you don't move the rad on a 2.4 you can get cooling problems.

do you not have two mounting positions on your rad ??

mine has two sets of mounting holes .and if you haven,t drill some.
get the rad out, drill some new holes on the side and refit...jobs a goodun

(you dont need any steel or have a vice for this, just a drill and bits)

OK just been out to see how many mounting holes i have, only one set. I however cant figure out why i would need to reposition or drop my rad. All hoses are flexible and have plenty of room to adjust the 1 1/2 " required, and the bottom of the fan blade sits about 6" higher that the bottom of the radiator. The fan shroud is rounded to fit around the fan at the top only and is open at the bottom. So in effect a lift would better position the fan nearer to the centre of the radiator. Am I missing something?

Yeah, the bottom half of the shroud!!

But on the plus side, you don't need rad brackets now.

its just a good idea to get the rad lower than the thermostat housing, for filling and general cooling
