This thing is doing my nut in. Put up a copy of the oil spec chart for the MKIV, (mines the MKII, but same should apply), and it's confusing me a damned sight more each time I look at it. Working on their spec, the single grade SAE 30 is for temperate climes, so that one ain't gonna be the best option, but does that also mean that a 20/50 grade would be the same? i.e: it starts at the correct viscosity, but is it going to be too thin when it warms?

Btw, right click on the link and 'save as' if you don't want it to be opened within the browsers inline pdf viewer.

then get a good quality ,non synthetic, mineral oil, like magnatec around the best viscosity closest to the one that you need and DO NOT start a viscous fan thread.if you have problems with things non computery consult a medium, alternatively do as bushwhacker says and get some ****ING OIL IN IT
          Non intercooled nothing.

I just want to make absolutely sure that I make the correct choice first time. Honestly, I can't even be a finnicky fart without getting in trouble these days.

that oil that charlie reccomends has to be a winner, remember the engine is a basic design...so is the oil pump, match as per reccomends and you cant go wrong - it dont warrent multigrades!
