    My thoughts exactly!

What's got me thinking is the ARB locking diffs front and rear, plus the waffle boards, plus the secondary air compressor.

He's off on expedition and he ain't telling us.

    How very dare you.

What I am doing is this:

Install winch in discrete mount - maybe get longer cables to put the soleniod somewhere else.
New seats (same as 4Runners) Corbeau GTS
Hi-Lift jack, base plate and mounting kit
      Two yellow top Optima Batteries
      Rock Sliders
On board 12v air compressor and impact tools
      Waffle boards/sand ladders
Winch accesories - ie full recovery kit
New sensors for transfer to fix 4WD issue
      Replacement steering components
      4 x new UJs
      Front fog lights
      New bulbs for light bar
      Snorkel
      Raised diff breathers
Rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks with remote

All the above is here/ordered (except seats - long delivery time on those), some already on the rest is for later:

ARB Diff Lockers (at some point)
      Custom roof rack
Jerry can holders or wheel brackets for roof
      Front and rear light bars
Sort out the engine - or replace it with a KZN185 - smoother, longer life etc.
      Overhaul brakes
Custom rear disc kit to be made/fitted

Then, I will have a vehicle that can go anywhere.....so, when the time comes for any kind of trip, I know I'll have the truck that will make it - and can be in a position to help others out - and, I'm keeping in contact with Bucks and Oxon 4x4 response, as we are talking about extending their reach into South Warks.......so may fit some discrete amber strobes somewhere too....

          roof rail saga

can i join in this one. I have been looking for ways to mount a rack or bars behind the sun roof since owning my truck. How did bushwhacker mount the rails to his truck and what rails were they?

And ferrets too.. top tip, drop the head lining rather than used them odd 'special' expanding fittings...
                      it's in me shed, mate.

please ellaborate . how easy is it to drop the lining , and what expanding gismos, ? will my roof leak after drilling holes for rails or do the rails seal well?

Dropping the lining is a bit fiddly, but not difficult, the expanding gizmos are like cavity wall fixings, but a surf roof isn't like a cavity wall... The roof bars have a rubber layer on the contact area, that and a bit of silicon will stop any leaks.

For the record mine were from an Audi A80. I've heard that Pug 405, Ford Escort, and some BMW rails will also fit.

Now no need to drop the lining. Phone guys at k and H engineering on 0131 663 0564. explain to him that a window cleaner bought a roof rack off them for a hilux surf then say u were thinking o getting it done and ask how they mounted it. here a pic o my mounts. dont even look bad, well i think they dont. Still trying to be bothered to get pics o my roof rack, its massive and holds at least 6 heavy duty sets o ladders no problem at allhttp://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=24 752&stc=1&d=1211712546
