to start of i think best would be try a stall test, if your unsure how to do the test google stall test or gearbox stall test etc, or remove the pan from yer gearbox and inspect for bown sludge for clutch failure, or other internal failure's like bits of metal or plastics etc then go from there.

I thought the stall test was only applicable to manual boxes. Just googled it. Looks like I was confused againLast edited by SoundsDigital; 6 May 2008, 19:31.

When you select a gear on a Auto the clutches and the appropriate bands lock however the torque converter does not until there are sufficient revs to accomplish fluid lock this is why the vehicle rolls back when you take your foot of the gas this is normal.ionic SURFactant
