IMHO it would be the single best mod you could make to a 2nd gen Surf

Look on yotatech or here for a Spanish Guy Blizzrad is his forum name. He has carried out a fantastic swap out. But he has went the whole hog with double suspension mounts, diff disk braking ect.

so these mods are standard kit on the first gen and the pick ups
it would be hard to let go of my surf had it five years
i think i would kill my surf off before long so iam thinking
about my options here for a mo
dont get me wrong my surf is just about tip top a few wonds but nothing wrong
and what is wrong i will have fixed
i can get a very good price for it off a local i know

its just if iam going to keep doing what i love doing
it seems that a 1st gen or pick up could be better for what i do
i do every kind of off raoding
from the easy to the extreme
what would the better option be guys?

iam not sure what to do?
thanks guys sorry for bugging i diver on car options

vosa's reason for rejection on arbs .

                  2. An anti-roll bar not fitted to an axle on which it is standard

So that means a failure if removed?

If the tester knows it to be fitted as standard to that vehicle then it can be failed. How many testers know surfs have them as standard?

I would have thought they all should know, shouldn't they? The Surf has been popular here for the past eight years at least.

Possibly, but aren't all vehicles (PLG) equipped with ARBs when they leave their respected factories?
And isn't the MOT the same test throughout Britain?

It ain't hard to see where the brackets are meant to be or to work out what they should've held. If an MOT tester wanted to fail you on it, or it made the car any less stable in his opinion he could fail you. They ain't stupid they know it's been taken off. It simply just does not bother most of them, as they know that in reality it plays a very minor role as far as safety is concerned.
