What is a fact is that you are sufficiently comfortable with the minor risk that this presents and so are many others. It is, I think, a little irresponsible to state on a public forum that removing ARBs has no effect on stability even if you think that the naysayers are just being big girls.

My argument has always been that removing ARBs presents no extra risk if you are aware of your vehicles limitations.

Early secondary school physics tells you that if you continue to blast around roundabouts like an ar5e (something you shouldn't do in a Surf type vehicle anyway) then you will have a little extra mass shift and so increase your likelihood of a rollover slightly.

If you drive within the vehicles new limitations, you have mitigated the risk.

      This IS a fact.

It's the 'Elk Test' scenario that bothers me.

Anyway, I've said my piece and I have a diabolical hangover so I'm not going to keep labouring the point.

Its a swedish test ( i think its swedish!) where you have to go hard left to hard right or t'other way round to simulate an 'elk' walking into the road

The new L200 was okish.... the new Hilux rolled!

What sancho is saying (an i agree) is that in the event of anything going into your lane an your natural reaction to yank the steering left/right your probably going to end up on tut' roof!

If that is the type of control one has over the vehicle, or your general driving style, then you are pretty much bolloxed regardless. It's the same type of scenario as the pedal stompers where braking is concerned. As Apache mentioned, knowing, keeping within and being able to deal with your vehicles limitations is far more important than any ancillary, (i.e: not basic suspension/safety components), ride smoothing components.
