He's not, the battery leads will reach if you have the wrong battery, you just turn it round so the terminals face the front and pull the leads back.
The passenger side fits quite easily wrong, doing it the drivers side is more of a struggle.
He's still wrong, you've gone from being right to wrong.
Well, I've never tried it, but the cables do look too short on mine to get even close to the terminals.
I've got one big F/O Lexus battery connected up now anyway.
Be precise, rather than spouting misleading information. If both are borderline or below par, replacing just one will have that effect you mention. If one is in perfectly good condition, whilst the other is not, then replacing just the problematic one would be fine.
If both are of the same age, however, then replacing them as a pair is the advisable option.
