i'm looking for some sort of end cap's for em, wnated domed ones but i'm thinking "pet shops" small furry animals and parrot type s/s feeding dishes,

I think you should invest in a set of axle stands. I don't think balancing 2 ton of Surf on a plastic milk crate is a very good idea.

BTW, how much was the metal tubing, and what sort of thickness is it?

It looks like those brackets effectively bolt the body to the chassis - not a good idea

wot wot!!! there should'be any major movement between em should there?
i painted all ove the lift spacers (as you can see) and aint notice any paint crack that ya'd get with movement, if this is a big nono tell me now before i go to far with it,
i guess i could bolt the t peice instad of welding it? that would give it a bit of leeway in case of movement,

It was about £88 from metalsdirect, for 3 meters (2x 1.5 mt actually) and its
1.5mm wall, they do do a 2.5 wall (unpolished) about the same price.

I think your referring to the fact that the body mounts are rubber and Popeys doesn't have this articulation built into his design.....mmm might be worth just body mounting them if you can..

Having said that, if you do it this way and have no problems then just leave it.

                          nice job.
