I havn't got a Surf, but if I leave my lights on and the door is open then they beep. I think the dash/dials only turn on with the headlights. Maybe check the little button/wiring that senses/tells when the door is shut is able to be pressed and no loose wires there?Live like ur gonna die, because ur gonna

try and get an inductive wand over the live from the strter battery,if not a multimeter, see if there is more than 12 volts from alternator to battery when running.the battery should produce about 13 volts when idle and this should rise anywhere up to about 16-18 volts when running,if not,its probably the alternator.if all is well there, have a look at the earth returns running back to the body.make sure that all the connections are sound, but if the truck starts all right they should be.Non intercooled nothing.

its a 3 pin plug but it hasnt been connected before as it has mud in it and everything.
It just behaves as if the engine hasent started and volts on dash dial are down near half on tick over instead of 3/4.
Plus it was very sudden, went to tesco fine no probs went out and it started doing it then.
Altenator then maybe?Without Surf And Unhappy

ay sounds like alternator, could be as simple as a loose connection on the back of the alternator, or fuse gone - if it's a fuse you still wanna investigate what coulda caused the fuse to go. Could be damp got into the alternator if you've been having really shitty weather up there, and may be fine again when it dries out.=========
